Aus diesen Vorlesungen ging das Buch The Coming of the Golden Age hervor. Ich sagte Stent, daß ich nach der Lektüre von The Coming of the Golden Age nicht wisse, ob das »Neue Polynesien«, die Ära gesellschaftlicher und geistiger Stagnation und allgemeiner Muße, seiner Ansicht nach der Gegenwart vorzuziehen sei.
