The root – and thus form derivational families. A derivational family consists of lexemes with the same root grouped around a base form. , a stem – for various derivational processes. Derivational processes in Croatian primarily refer to affixation and compounding. Affixation mainly consists of prefixation and suffixation. The motivation for building CroDeriV is twofold: (1) to analyze and systematically present the morphological structure and derivational relations of Croatian lexemes resulting from their mutual morphological relatedness, and (2) to use this data for the enrichment of existing resources and tools, as well as for the development of new ones.
